About
Barbara B. Heerema, born in North Carolina, has lived in South Florida since the age of 9. She and her husband, Arie, raised 3 children there. Living an ordinary life with extraordinary sensitivity, Barbara entwined the stories of her life with the lessons of faith she was learning into books of prose and prayer-poems. She currently lives in Plantation, Florida.
Book One
A calligraphy class was the spark that started Barbara writing. She began to ‘write to God’ as a way to practice her penmanship. She shared those writings with friends and was surprised when many told her they had found a message within the words that had meaning for them.
Book Two
The style of this book, a personal journal of sorts, is similar to the first book, but the life events are very different. In her ‘writing to God’ Barbara made connections mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, enabling her to overcome fears and insecurities which were the subject of many hours of counseling.
